Thelma 1910

Who Is Thelma

She is the quintessential early American farmwoman.....that has lived in this house...longer than anyone else. She moved in here in 1923, the year she got married....and lived here until 2000, which is the year she passed on...

Delivering and raising her children here, tending to livestock, clearing and working the fields, harnessing and riding horses, driving tractors, cooking, canning, gardening, mowing, raising and dressing chickens, 1000's of dinners prepared, crocheting and knitting.....most of her life was here..

Towards the end of her life, she became growingly concerned about the fate of her house. To the east and west....she watched the neighboring farmhouses get "bulldozed" for development.... Fortunately, through her children's willingness....we have been able to fully restore the house.

And now, you are welcome to come and enjoy it.... Thelma is no longer here....yet her spirit certainly lingers...
